The King of kings Mentors kings in the Throne Room

For the last few years I’ve kept my eyes open to identify the people that God has put in my life as mentors. I’ve had a few good mentors in the past and I’ve been blessed to have them in my life but God has put in my life a hunger that usually surpasses what a mentor can give me. I’ve sat under good teaching but it’s never been enough to satisfy my hunger. Since I became a Christian I went from going to church only on Sundays to going to church also on Wednesdays for Bible studies and prayer. After that I started to read my Bible more and get the sermon on CD after the service. When I got my first job I started to buy and devour Christian books. I would buy anything that looked good even if later I found out that some things were not correct. I remember that during elementary and high school I never finished reading a book. I would read one page then skip like 20 pages to read one page and tell my dad that I read the whole book. The first book I bought when I became a Christian was called “Possessing the Gates of the enemy” by Cindy Jacobs. I remember that I read that book cover to cover. My whole life I had thought that I didn’t like to read but it was just that I didn’t want to read things I didn’t enjoy reading. The next book I read was Uncovering the Darkness of This Present Age “ by Hector Torres. Then I went from that to getting CD sets and training manuals for the pastors that were part of the ministry my church was part of. I really enjoyed reading these manuals and listening to the CD sets. My pastor also lent me his CD’s and books. I was devouring a lot of really good things. Soon I found out that I had read and listened to almost all the material that ministry had. After that I had a job where we were allowed to listen to music all day. I had my IPod with me all the time listening to my audio Bible and more CD sets. After that I had another Job where we were only two people, my boss in the office and me driving an order picker forklift in the warehouse. I was there for two year. It was an amazing time of prayer and listening to really good teachings on the gifts of the Spirit, spiritual warfare and revival. God used a lot of that to strengthen me in hard seasons and help me fight “hard” spiritual battles. My expectation to hear His voice grew a lot and my understanding of the ways the Spirit of God works grew and I also learned about some spiritual dynamics during spiritual warfare times. I found out that I was being mentored by people I had never met before. I would find out who the best were at something I wanted to learn, read their material and listen to their messages. I still had in my heart a desire to have a very close mentor in my life. I always had my pastor there for me. Two pastors in my life that were such a blessing to me. The first one is a prayer warrior and the second one is such a loving person filled with compassion and understanding. Through my second pastor God healed some wounds in my heart and affirmed me in His love. I remember the second time I went to that church. The pastor gave me a hug and a kiss in my cheek. I felt the love of God come over me. Some fears and rejection were being broken. I have received prophetic words before from people and felt God minister to my heart in a powerful way but I’ve also seen that loving somebody can bring healing. There is no greater word than the word love. God is love and when we love people we are prophesying over them. During this time I decided to go to Bible College where everything I had learned in the past has been challenged. One class that rocked my world was “History and Philosophy of Church Music.” I learned to pay attention to why I believed what I believed about worship and the way we “do church.” I learned to appreciate other churches and denominations. I considered why people worship the way they worship and what they value. This made me more loving and tolerant. I thought that many churches were just religious because “it wasn’t all about the Holy Spirit” but I found out that I was religious because I idolized the way I had always worshiped and done church. I was idolizing a form and image of worship that I had built in my heart. I even got to appreciate a cappella singing and I noticed that being quiet in God’s presence and singing softly without music was the way I connected with God the most. Through my other classes I began to learn to really pay attention to what I heard and read. I’ve had to structure again a lot of things in my theology. One thing I learned was that it is possible to move in the supernatural and still be theologically sound and not be weird. We don’t have to have one at the expense of the other. One person that models this is Curry Blake from John G. Lake Ministries. A lot of his teachings destroy wrong ideas about revival and bring things back to the simplicity of devotion to Christ. It helped me understand that in some Christian circles revival is a religion even though the people who follow it think that they are all about the Holy Spirit and that they are not like “other dead religious people.” God has blessed me with some friends I can learn from and sharpen each other in our faith. I haven’t found too many people to mentor me in the development of my gifts but there are people of character in my life that can speak into my life. I believe that God wants me to have Him as my number one mentor in my life and then other people around me. I used to get frustrated because I didn’t find people to mentor me but God keeps saying that I need to be alone with Him in His presence. I believe in being mentored by people and that will never change but the Bible says that we are kings and I believe that for kings the best mentoring can only happen in the throne room learning from the King of kings.

Enter His Rest in the Midst of Social Unrest

I’ve been seeking the Lord lately to hear His wisdom and counsel in some areas of my life. He answered some of my questions but I still haven't understood some things. This has caused me to seek God more for clarity. He has not clarified things to me yet. However, He has used this time to speak to me about things that I didn’t even ask Him about. A lot of times God uses questions I have to get my attention and to cause me to draw near Him so I can hear Him speak about some important things that I’m not even asking Him to tell me. God doesn't always answer our huge lists of questions. Sometimes He tells us only what we really need to know.
I need to clarify something before I start. I’m not sharing this to wow anybody or to say “THIS IS THE WORD OF THE LORD FOR YOU! OBEY WHAT I SAY!” This is a word for me. Something that is going to help me in my walk with God but I share it because it has a lot of value to me and I want to share my heart with the people I love. This is not a crazy message about the world ending tomorrow either. This is about social unrest caused by the following things: lack of some resources and also some climate changes. I’m talking about really cold weather in some places and fear coming over people too. How? Where? When? I DON’T KNOW. I’m not asking you to believe this. I didn’t get this from the Bible. That’s why I won’t go into the details of how I received it. This is the important Bible message that I heard very clear from the Lord:
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32).
When I went to study that passage in its context I found most of the things I heard before.
“For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things” (Luke 12:30).
What things?
The things of Life (v.22)
Food and clothing.
People usually freak out when they don’t know what they are going to eat tomorrow. I’ve freaked out before too, but this is what God tells us in His word when we worry about food and clothing:

“…You men of little faith! And do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying. For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you.  Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:28-32).

“Seek His kingdom” (v.31). Why? Because Jesus said: “Your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom” (v.32).

What else did Jesus say?

- “Do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep                                          worrying” (v.29).
- “Do not be afraid” (v.32).

When we have worry and fear we don’t have rest. If there is lack of basic needs in a city or a nation people freak out and as a result we don’t have rest. Instead, we have social unrest. This leads to all kinds of problems including the increase of crime.

We don’t have to have unrest in our lives. God will provide in supernatural ways. He will supply all of our needs according to His riches in Glory and not according to what happens on the earth. What happens here on earth has no authority or power over God’s ability to meet the needs of His children. He will do it even if you lose your job and can’t work.

“Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds!” (v. 24).

I’m not saying that we shouldn’t work or save money. That’s not what I’m saying here. What I’m saying is that God can and will supply all of your needs even if you don’t work or have a savings account. Why? Because you are valuable to Him. Much more valuable than the birds. You are His son or daughter and He does not abandon His children. I know I may seem like I’m trying to say that I have the biggest faith ever but at some point in our lives we must decide to believe what the Bible says. If it’s not true, then it’s the biggest lie ever told to humanity. If this passage is not true then we should also doubt the whole Bible even when it says that we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ. If God lied when He said that He will supply all of your needs according to His riches in Glory He also lied when he said that you are saved and that you are going to heaven.

It’s a fact that God will provide. However, not having rest is still possible if we don’t believe that God will provide. How do we have rest then?

“And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient? So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief” (Hebrew 3:18-19).
When we have unbelief we don’t have rest even if we have manna every day like Israel did.
It’s a fact that God will give us manna, but He wants us to have rest. God doesn’t worry about being able to provide to us. That’s not a problem for Him. What’s important to him is that His children have peace and learn to trust Him. He wants to remove the feeling of abandonment from our lives even if it’s through fire. He will purify our faith. He will remove the orphan spirit from His children!

- “Our Father… give us today our daily bread” (Matthew 6:9,11).
- “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32).
It’s a matter of trust. Enter His Rest in the Midst of Social Unrest.
IMPORTANT: This is not a 2012 “End of the World” prophecy or any indication that people in the city of Vancouver are going to be rioting the streets and breaking into stores to steal food.
Some Miracles of Provision in the Bible:
1. Manna sent daily, except on Sabbath (Ex. 16:14-35)
2. Water from the rock at Rephidim (Ex. 17:5-7)
3. Widow of Zarephath's meal and oil increased (1 Kings 17:14-16)
4. The widow's oil multiplied (2 Kings 4:2-7)
5. An hundred men fed with twenty loaves at Gilgal (2 Kings 4:42-44)
6. Water made wine (John 2:1-11)
7. Four thousand fed (Matt 15:32 Mark 8:1)
8. Jesus feeds 5000 in a desert place (Matt 14:15 Mark 6:30 Luke 9:10 John 6:1-14)
“For forty years you sustained them in the desert; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen” (Nehemiah 9:21).

Healings and Supernatural Provision

These testimonies are all from this week:

Two People Healed at Work During my Break

A man had back pain from standing up all day. He was healed and we had a short conversation about Jesus. Another man had pain in his legs, back and shoulders. All the pain was almost gone after I prayed two times. A woman was also blessed through an act of compassion. The love of God was imparted.

Divine Encounter on the Bus

A Korean man was at the bus stop waiting for the bus with me. After starting a conversation, we both got on the bus without paying because the machine was out of service :). He was a Christian that wasn't walking with God because he was discouraged. He was on his way to meet a Christian friend. I prayed for him twice and he was healed from shoulder, rib and arm pain. I also got to encourage him in the love of th Father. We both got off at the same stop and I helped him find his second bus. God loves him.

Back Healed

While working a man stood by me and said: "man, this Christmas is not going to be good. It was better last year." I asked him why and he told me how his girlfriend had just died from cancer and how he had recently lost his job. He didn't want to accept my money but I told him how the Lord provided for my needs this week and that we must help each other. I gave him $10 and 2 bus tickets. I also prayed for his lower back to be healed and told him about the gospel while praying. Jesus healed His back. He gave me a hug and told me he was going to go home and read a King James Bible his mom gave him when he was 18.

God Puts a Smile on a Man's Face

A man that works at the Liquor store where I’m working looked very serious and he wouldn’t smile or say hi. During the first four days of work I smiled at him and said hi but he didn’t look at me or say anything. After a few days I had some insight into why it was hard for him to smile and God put compassion for that man in my heart. I was outside standing at the door and he came out to help a costumer load his car. While he was loading his car I was filled with compassion and whispered a prayer. It was like this: “Father, I ask that you would cause this man to smile. In the name of Jesus”. I continued ringing the Salvation Army bell at the door and the man walked back to the store. This time it was different. He smiled and nodded at me. It was amazing. Minutes later I looked inside the store where he was working and his face looked very peaceful. He looked like a baby. God knows that I’m telling the truth. He looked peaceful and innocent like a child. The difference was amazing. He was very angry and serious before. I believe that the Lord broke a spirit that was oppressing that man. I know that something happened when I prayed. While I was praying I felt the Holy Spirit flow out of me through my arm.

The Lord confirmed this to me the next day while I was standing there. I opened my cream soda and I read the quote. It was proverbs 15:13 A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance. A man came to me and started talking about people’s smiles and a truck parked in from of me and its plate was “SMILE 5”. It was from a landscaping company called “Smiler Services LTD”. They didn’t happen all at the same time but they happened the same day.

Headache Healed Over the Phone

I was on the phone talking with my mom the other day and I had a word of knowledge about a headache. She had a headache and it left after praying.

Woman Encouraged

I prayed for a woman over the phone to be healed from cancer and while I was praying for her the Lord gave me a word of knowledge about an ear. I asked her if anybody in her home had hearing problems and she said no, but that her mother in law had had just called her an hour ago and told her that she had a ringing in one of her ears. I prayed for that to be healed too. She is not a Christian and she was encouraged to know that God knows about her and her family. I’m waiting for her to contact me and tell me how she is doing. I’m praying for her.

God Feeds Miguel

I was broke with money only for bus tickets to go to work but not for food. I asked a friend to lend me $20 and he gave me $40 and told me not to worry about paying him soon. I told one of my pastors at church today if I could take any food that was left over from today's potluck and he gave me two gift cards and $20. I told a friend I got blessed today and after 5 minutes he gave me $20 and told me to have a merry Christmas. I was about to pay for my groceries at save on foods and a friend comes out of nowhere and pays for my food. He didn't know I had no money. Everything within 24 hours. I love you Lord. There are more supernatural details to this last one but I would have to write too much. God's love is bigger than anything.
